PDMS-model in Inventor

A new converter between AVEVA PDMS and Autodesk Inventor is now released by NoIS.

The new converter is probably the best solution if you have an existing PDMS-model and wants to use Inventor to create modifications in the model. Our new converter converts AVEVA RVM-files to Inventors part- and assembly files. The result is a model hierarchy identical to PDMS with SITE, ZONE and so on.

The converted model behaves as a normal Inventor model. It is possible to open the whole model (top assembly) or part of the model (sub assembly). All elements are fully editable Inventor part-files with solid elements. One of our customers, Odfjell, has already tested our solution with great achievements. It was not a small element Odfjell used for conversion, but a whole oilrig.

-We are really proud that we were able to "produce gold out of stones". The value of the converted model will be huge, not only now, but also in the future, Frode Johannesen explains, structural engineer in Odfjell.
